Between 16 and 20 weeks pregnant, you're in your second trimester and your baby is rapidly developing. You might feel your baby move for the first time, and you might also be offered an ultrasound.
What happens to your baby?
Movement
You might feel your baby move for the first time, which is called quickening. The movement might feel like flutters or butterflies in your stomach.
Development
Your baby's facial features become more defined, and their fingers and toes become well-defined. They might also be able to move their eyes, hear sounds, and develop toenails.
Anatomy
Your baby's genitals form, and if you're having a girl, her eggs will be in her ovaries.
Hair
Hair starts to grow on your baby's head, and lanugo, a soft fine hair, covers their shoulders, back, and temple
